Dr Naved Bakali is Assistant Professor of Anti-Racism Education, University of Windsor, USA, and Senior Research Fellow, Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. He holds a PhD from McGill University, Montreal, in Cultural and International Studies in Education. Dr Bakali's research focuses on anti-Muslim racism. Research interests include internationalizing and decolonizing higher education, refugee education, Islamic pedagogy, and educational programming for survivors of trauma.
He believes in socially oriented action-research that challenges prejudice and inequality and combines research with grassroots activism. Dr. Bakali authored Islamophobia: Understanding anti-Muslim racism through the lived experiences of Muslim youth and co-edited Teacher training and education in the GCC: Unpacking the complexities and challenges of internationalizing educational contexts and The rise of global Islamophobia in the War on Terror: Coloniality, race, and Islam.
